Important Notice
Improper installation may result in damage to the kiosk, which will not be covered under warranty. Please ensure that all installation steps are followed correctly to avoid issues. If in doubt, consult a qualified professional.
1. Introduction
GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) kiosks are versatile structures widely used in industries such as telecommunications, utilities, and transportation. Installing GRP kiosks onto concrete pads ensures stability, durability, and longevity. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for properly securing GRP kiosks using pre-drilled holes and concrete bolts.
2. Site Preparation
Before installing the kiosk, ensure the following:
-
The installation site is level and free of debris.
-
The concrete pad is appropriately sized to accommodate the kiosk.
-
The company should consult with their structural specialist to confirm the suitability of the installation site.
-
There is sufficient clearance for maintenance access.
3. Preparing Materials and Tools
Gather the necessary materials and tools before starting the installation:
-
GRP kiosk
-
Concrete pad
-
Measuring tape
-
Chalk or marker
-
Concrete bolts and washers
-
Drill with appropriate bit
-
Hammer
-
Spanner or socket set
-
Spirit level

Protective gloves and goggles
4. Positioning the GRP Kiosk
-
Place the GRP kiosk on the concrete pad, ensuring proper alignment.
-
Double-check that the kiosk is centered and positioned correctly in relation to existing utilities or infrastructure.
-
Mark the bolt hole positions on the kiosk’s base plate using chalk or a marker.
5. Pre-drilling Bolt Holes
-
Using a drill with an appropriate bit, pre-drill holes into the marked positions on the kiosk’s base plate.
-
Ensure that the size and depth of the holes match the concrete bolts being used.
-
Remove any debris from the holes before proceeding.
6. Securing the Kiosk to the Concrete Pad
-
Align the pre-drilled holes on the base plate with the holes in the concrete pad.
-
Slowly lower the kiosk onto the pad, maintaining alignment.
-
Insert the concrete bolts and washers into the holes.
-
Use a spanner or socket set to tighten the bolts securely.
-
Tighten the bolts gradually and alternate between them to maintain even pressure and alignment.
7. Final Checks
-
Verify that the kiosk is level and plumb using a spirit level.
-
Inspect the kiosk for stability and ensure all fasteners are securely tightened.
-
Perform a final safety check to confirm there are no loose components.
